On May 9 and 10, the 5th anniversary season of the St. Petersburg Drift Cup will begin at the Igora Drive circuit. The competition will bring together the best drifters of the North-West and athletes from other regions, reports the press service of the Igora Drive autodrome.

The track is called the “Concrete Colosseum”. It is all surrounded by concrete blocks and does not forgive mistakes. The races here are always bright and unpredictable, the press service noted.

In total, three stages are planned this year: May 9-10, June 27-28 and August 29-30. And on September 19 and 20, a special competition will be held on the ring track in honor of the anniversary of the tournament.

Competitions in the St. Petersburg Cup are held according to the classic drift rules. On Saturday, all registered pilots will participate in qualifying. During a single race, drifters need to complete the judge’s task as accurately as possible. Based on the results of the races, the judges give the pilots scores, based on the results of which the 32 best pilots form the elimination bracket. The top 32 pairings take place on Sunday.

The main champion of recent years is Alexander Mezentsev. He won three years in a row: in 2023, 2024 and 2025. And in the very first cup in 2022 he took second place. Last year Denis Antrushin took silver, Artem Leitis took bronze. Will anyone be able to stop Mezentsev? It will become clear on May 9th.

Tickets are available on the circuit website. There will be a photo zone, food trucks, and a children’s corner with animators and Sid the lynx. Also watch live broadcasts in the “Igora Drive” group on VKontakte.
