The official premiere of the Russian new product should take place in June at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, and the model will be produced at the former Toyota automobile plant in Shushary, Auto Mail reported.
Senat 900 is an all-wheel drive sedan with a length of 5140 mm and a width of 1900 mm. and height 1500 mm. The rear sofa can be either three-seater or two-seater with a wide fixed armrest. Thus, the Senat 900 is noticeably smaller than the “original” Aurus Senat, the length of which exceeds 5500 mm, the portal notes.
A three-liter V6 petrol engine with 326 hp is certified for the model. Based on these data, it is easy to determine that the Senate is based on the Chinese Hongqi H9 sedan, which in the Russian Federation has an all-wheel drive version with the same engine. The dimensions and power of both machines are completely the same. At the same time, conversations about the release of Hongqi cars in Russia have been going on for a long time, says Auto Mail.
According to him, the Hongqi H9 sedan in Deluxe configuration with a two-liter engine and rear-wheel drive costs 5.8 million rubles. Last year, Hongqi announced a batch of H9 with V6 3.0, all-wheel drive and air suspension (acceleration to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds, top speed 240 km/h), but the price turned out to be twice as high – about 10 million rubles. From January 1, 2026, due to the indexation of recycling rates, it could increase even more.
Thanks to local production, the price of the Senat 900 may be able to be kept within 10 million rubles (for comparison: the original Aurus Senat costs almost 50 million rubles). However, preferential recycling fees require a high degree of localization, and it is too early to talk about this. In 2026, it is planned to produce up to 1,000 cars, although the capacity of the plant in Shushary allows it to produce 100 times more, Auto Mail noted.
Previously, the Volga brand issued documents for the K40 crossover.
