The Chinese version of the third generation Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line has several key technical features, an expert told Za Rulem.

The main difference from the European model is the extended wheelbase, which provides noticeably more space in the second row and increases trunk volume to 471-1696 liters, noted Alexander Vinogradov.

Under the hood is a fourth-generation two-liter EA888 turbo engine producing 220 hp. and 350 Nm of torque. It is paired with a seven-speed DSG robot with a “dry” clutch – the author of the test calls this combination “familiar and excellent,” noting the instant response to the gas pedal and excellent elasticity, the specialist said.

All-wheel drive remains available, and acceleration to 100 km/h takes 7.5 seconds with a top speed of 200 km/h. The suspension is built on the MQB Evo platform, which, according to Vinogradov, “is impossible to spoil in principle.” However, the car goes through joints and holes hard, although the energy intensity is maintained. Ground clearance is 190 mm.

In ergonomics, there has been a shift towards touch control: the climate control is completely integrated into the media system, and under the screen there are only touch “buttons” for temperature and volume.

To adapt the Chinese media system in Russia, it is recommended to use the XCarLink adapter. Moreover, all body panels of the car are galvanized, so there is no doubt about the corrosion resistance, the expert noted.
