A Chinese blogger, leading a social network under the nickname Long Ge Talks EVs, lost the trial against the BYD concern. According to the court decision, the information disseminated by the author of the channels was unreliable, which caused reputational damage to the automaker.
This meeting was the second. Prior to this, the court of first instance made a similar decision, but now the original verdict has survived the appeal.
Previously, the blogger hastened to apologize to the BYD concern, but the words could not influence the size of the fine. The convicted person will have to pay 2 million yuan (21 million rubles) for libel.
According to Chinese media, a tense situation has arisen in the country between influencers and automakers. Often the former are ready to criticize the latter for bribes from competing companies.
