Images of the second generation Volkswagen compact cross have appeared on the Internet – these are probably screenshots of the multimedia system. Judging by them, the appearance of the bestseller will receive evolutionary development and will borrow features from the “older” Tiguan. It will be based on the MQB Evo platform on which the Golf is built.
At the front, the new T-Roc has a large grille with a hexagon pattern and large air intakes. The optics are similar to those of other Volkswagen models, but the headlights taper more towards the center, where they are connected by an LED strip with an emblem in the center.

The T-Roc, which occupies a niche in Volkswagen’s lineup between the T-Cross and Tiguan, competes with the Hyundai Kona and Toyota C-HR. It will probably borrow power plants from the same-platform Golf – for example, several options for a “mild” hybrid. A “charged” T-Roc R is also expected, which may receive a two-liter “turbo-four” from the Golf R. There are rumors about the appearance of a plug-in hybrid version, but Volkswagen has not yet confirmed them.
Meanwhile, the German brand is preparing to say goodbye to its only convertible, the T-Roc Cabrio. It will be discontinued in 2027. With the retirement of the open T-Roc, the Osnabrück plant will lose its latest model, and Volkswagen has no further plans for it. But Chinese buyers are already eyeing the site, and, according to insiders, the Germans are open to offers.
