The 115th anniversary running of the legendary Isle of Man TT race takes place this week. In honor of the event, BMW released a limited edition of its most powerful superbike. A total of 115 copies will be sold worldwide, Carscoops reports.
The main difference between the M 1000 RR and conventional motorcycles is the British Racing Green Uni Matt paint job, complemented by graphics reproducing the most famous sections of the Isle of Man TT circuit. The carbon air filter cover and black Alcantara seat also feature race logos.
The superbike includes a custom number plate on the top triple clamp, an aluminum fuel tank with color accents, a black swingarm, a rear stand, a motorcycle mat and a certificate of authenticity.
No technical improvements were made to the special version of Isle of Man TT. Under the hood is the same 999 cc naturally aspirated inline-four engine producing 205 hp. at 13,000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 11,100 rpm. The gearbox is six-speed. Large wings on the fairings generate 23 kg of downforce at a speed of 300 km/h.
BMW did not disclose the distribution plan for the limited M 1000 RR Edition Isle of Man TT by market. It is only known that five copies will be sold in the UK at a price of $59,300 (approximately 4.2 million rubles).
