Experts from the auto service network Fit Service named Gazeta.Ru the typical weaknesses of the popular Chinese crossover Chery Tiggo 4 Pro, which is one of the best-selling cars of this brand in Russia.
As Andrey Kuzin, head of the Fit Service “Yaroslavskoe Highway”, told Gazeta.Ru, both engines of the model – naturally aspirated 1.5 liters and turbocharged 1.5T – with careful maintenance with an oil change every 7-8 thousand kilometers, they cover 200-250 thousand km without serious breakdowns, although the turbo version is sensitive to overheating and low-quality fuel.
With a quiet ride and changing the fluid every 40–50 thousand km, a CVT can last more than 200 thousand km, but if the driver prefers a high-spirited style, the gearbox may require repairs by 80 thousand km.
In the chassis, early wear of the silent blocks of the front levers is possible – by 20-25 thousand km the rubber-metal elements begin to knock. The braking system suffers from weak standard front discs, and the rear mechanisms are susceptible to corrosion, especially in winter, and require regular maintenance.
The body and paintwork also require attention: there are often chips on the front parts, the edges of the arches and the fifth door, as well as peeling paint on the trunk lid, although there is no longer global rust, as on old Chinese models.
Electrically, the main complaints are about small things: due to weak contacts, sensors malfunction, ESP errors come on, the rear view camera is capricious, which for some owners eventually ceases to adequately show the picture and requires replacement.
Climate control, according to the expert, warms up the interior in winter more slowly than expected, and in the heat it works at the limit.
