Tesla faced serious problems with the sale of Cybertruck in the domestic market: if in 2024 Americans bought almost 40 thousand of these pickup trucks, then in 2025 sales fell by more than half – to 20,237 units. At the same time, Elon Musk once promised to sell up to 500 thousand cars a year. However, while demand in the United States is falling, an unexpected buyer was found in Kazakhstan – the local government purchased several Cybertrucks for law enforcement agencies, Carscoops reports.
In mid-May, the matte black Cybertruck entered service with the State Security Committee of Kazakhstan. The car, equipped with blue and red flashing lights, was used during one of the events.
According to media reports, the pickup truck was handed over to the authorities by a local businessman. The vehicle will serve as a mobile command center at major events across the country, providing inter-department coordination and communications.
But this is not the only Cybertruck in Kazakhstan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations also included one such pickup truck in its fleet – in matte white with orange and blue graphic elements. According to Vice-Minister Erbolat Sadyrbayev, the machine has proven itself well in the mountainous areas of the Almaty region.
“Our ministry works in situations where assistance needs to be provided as quickly as possible and every minute counts,” Sadyrbaev said. “The Cybertruck has proven to be very effective in responding to various emergency situations. This is about saving lives.” The deputy minister added that the government plans to replenish the vehicle fleet with new Cybertrucks, but did not specify exactly how many vehicles it plans to purchase.
Thus, Tesla, which is having difficulty selling the Cybertruck in the United States, has found an unexpected corporate client in the form of Kazakh government agencies, which have already managed to evaluate the pickup truck in harsh conditions.
