Instead of purchasing robotic lawn mowers, Volkswagen decided to use a flock of hundreds of sheep to maintain the lawn at one of its factories. As the press service of the auto giant notes, the animals have enough space for free grazing.

The bosses of the concern decided to make this decision because 27 hectares of the territory of the Polish Volkswagen plant are occupied by solar panels, which generate up to a quarter of the electricity required for the operation of the enterprise.

However, the grass growing under the photovoltaic modules turned out to be a big problem. But now about a hundred Greater Polish sheep will eliminate the vegetation naturally.

In turn, the Poznan University of Life Sciences will study how the technogenic environment of a modern factory affects the behavior of animals. But it has already been noted that sheep behave quite naturally.
