According to a study by the Compare marketplace, Evolute cars are showing record markdowns on the Russian secondary market, Gazeta.Ru reports. Over 2-4 years, their cost is reduced by 1.4-3 million rubles, which in percentage terms is 40-60% of the original price. The sample included cars from 2022–2024 with a mileage of 50–60 thousand kilometers.

The leader of the anti-rating is i-Jet, which has been losing almost 3 million rubles over 2 years. The remaining models also show deep depreciation: i-Sky and i-Van become cheaper by 2.2 and 1.7 million, respectively, and the i-Pro sedan “loses weight” by 1.69 million rubles over four years.

Compare identifies systemic problems that affect liquidity. This is, firstly, the positioning of the brand as a local player with a Chinese base, which in a number of characteristics is inferior to its direct competitors. Secondly, the inflated “primary” price tag, not supported by reputation. Thirdly, operation in the taxi segment, where the disadvantages of electric vehicles and hybrids compared to traditional engines are revealed.

A separate negative factor is the cost of policies. In recent years, OSAGO for most Evolutes has risen in price by 18-28%, which hits the owners’ pockets and reduces the number of people willing to purchase such a model on the secondary market, notes expert Fedor Kalabkin.
