The crossover with the internal combustion engine is resigned: the demand for Blazer has been falling for more than a year, and therefore Chevrolet decided to refuse to release the fuel version of the model. This will release the power of the plant in Mexico, where a gasoline blazer is now produced to convert it exclusively for assembling electric vehicles. There are already produced electric Blazer EV, Equinox EV, as well as Cadillac Optiq and Honda Prologue.

Blazer with ICEs in the form in which it is presented on the American market now, sold since 2018 – in the Chevrolet model line, it occupies a niche between Equinox and Traverse. The best year for the model was the 2020th, when the dealers managed to realize almost 95 thousand crossovers. After that, the fall of demand began, as a result of which Blazer completed 2024 with the result of only 52 thousand copies sold (-20 percent to the 2023rd).

Blazer survived the last restyling in the middle of 2022: he brought the crossover cosmetic changes in appearance and more advanced equipment in the initial versions. The motor gamut, from which by that time the basic “atmospheric” with a volume of 2.5 liters had already been excluded, has not changed. Simultaneously with the updated fuel, Blazer also debuted its electric version of Blazer EV, built on the architecture of Ultium. For the electrocross, three types of drive were offered: front, rear and complete.

The main competitors of the Chevrolet Blazer EV in the segment are Ford Mustang Mach-E, Honda Prologue and Hyundai Ioniq 5, which are ahead of it in sales (data for the third quarter of 2024). In general, the segment of medium -sized electric crossovers in the United States demonstrates growth.
