The employees of these two companies, as well as other units included in the Hyundai Motor group, were banned from using the language model from China, which is gaining popularity. Moreover, the restriction applies not only to the headquarters of the brands in South Korea, but also to the foreign offices of Hyundai, Kia and their subsidiaries and branches, Korean etnews.com clarifies.

Deepseek is a Chinese neural network competing with Chatgpt. Unlike other language models presented on the market, Deepseek provides the user with free access by virtually no restrictions on the quantity and subject of requests. The neural network writes texts, analyzes documents, programs and does much more without the need to draw up a paid subscription.

Hyundai Motor Group believes that Deepseek can cause a leakage of confidential corporate information, and therefore introduces a single approach to data protection. This happened amid a sharp increase in the popularity of DeepSeek and subsequent news that the Chinese developer publishes data in an unpleasant form. Researchers from Wiz Research have discovered an open database with more than a million records containing confidential information of Deepseek users.

In January, Deepseek in the new version of R took first place in downloading in a number of countries, which provoked a decrease in the indices of American IT companies. For example, NVIDIA shares for a day collapsed by 17 percent.
