Mazda has submitted a new development plan of Lean Asset Strategy (leaning strategy for assets), which is expected to allow it to remain afloat in the era of turbulence. The plan provides for a three -fold increase in productivity without attracting additional resources, reducing investment in electrification from 2 to 1.5 billion yen, as well as a significant decrease in capital investments – mainly due to the assembly of electric cars and fuel machines on the same line.

Another electric car, but already on its own platform, will appear at Mazda in 2027, and the costs of its development, thanks to the separation of costs, will be lower by 40%. The release of the new CX-5, which will be the first to receive the SkyActiv-Z engine, is also planned for the second phase of electrification (2025–2027). The four -cylinder unit 2.5 is primarily interesting to the high thermal efficiency and the ability to preserve it in a wider range of revolutions and instant compression values.

In fact, this will be the further development of Skyactiv-X, but without the need to search for a compromise between power and fuel efficiency. The engine allegedly will allow, with comparable return, to meet the ecological norms of Euro-7, and on the CX-5 the unit will become part of a hybrid installation. Over time, the combustion technologies used on SkyActiv-Z adapt to the in-line “six” SkyActiv-G/D and the rotor E-Skyactiv R-EV, although in general the line of power units “Mazda” will be halved in the coming years, and the controlling software will be seriously unified.
