The Kagan gold race always takes place in April in the Astrakhan steppes and deserts. It is this race that is considered the most difficult in the Russian championship. Astrakhan is an exhausting hollow on hard, like a stone of steppe bumps. Astrakhan is real sands and dunes. Astrakhan is the first heat in the season. Astrakhan is a full-fledged rally-raid. For this, athletes love Astrakhan! But a third of the participants usually does not reach the finish line – Astrakhan pulls the forces out of them, and they are pulled on a cable or brought to the evacuators to the bivouac.

In total, 38 crews in automobile tests and 33 motorsmen in the cross-country rally will take part in the competitions. The most of the T3 class became the most numerous – 14 crews on Baggi will perform in it. In the category of raid-sport for the right to be the first in the standings, seven crews will fight. Including the current champions of Russia Alexei Ignatov and Evgeny Pavlov.

– The second stage of the championship of the country that takes place in Astrakhan is a significant event. Summer race on the steppes and desert areas, such a real rally-raid! Our team is ready to show all its skills. Our Gazelle NN and Sadko NN are designed specifically for such competitions. We have already won the Bach “Russia-Several Forest”, but there the bet was on the skills of our ralists, and they are one of the best in the country. This time we can demonstrate the capabilities of our cars. We carefully prepared for the race: we set up new shock absorbers, worked on the rear suspension, which required special attention, and also reconfigured the front suspension, especially in the NN gazelle with an independent suspension. They changed the angles of installation of the front wheels, and I am sure that these innovations will allow our cars to be better controlled in fast steppe areas, and the speed should significantly increase. Our trucks did not stand aside. They became even faster and more reliable thanks to the use of new elements in transmissions – gearboxes and handouts. In addition, we facilitated cars by reducing their mass. These new solutions make trucks easier to manage, which means that their maneuverability will also increase significantly. For our team, such serious competitions and as many as four racing days are excellent preparation for the Silk Road. In addition, this is also a real verification of the reliability of our cars. The units and units that we have developed, which will withstand such high racing loads, will be able to get into serial production. This year, almost 40 athletes are announced, and competing among so many participants means to increase their skills. The rivals are really formidable and interesting, and we will be happy to enter the struggle with them! ”

On April 16, an official training took place, where in a relatively small area in the Narimanovsky district, participants could fully recall all the Astrakhan “delicious” – to shake the car on the kochkarika, to remember a little about three -dimensional steppe paths and even feel the sand.

Since April 17, after the traditional opening, which will be held next to the Astrakhan Kremlin, the race will begin to gain momentum. Already on Thursday, athletes will pass a prologue about 20 km, after which a briefing with the choice of starting positions for dozens of fastest crews will take place in the evening.

Then on Friday, on the second day, the distance will increase to 350 km, on the third day in the race menu is 295 km, and on the final fourth day, on Sunday, the crews will pass 250 km. And the competition will end with the celebration of the winners traditionally on the Petrovskaya embankment of Astrakhan. In just four days, about 915 km of special stages are waiting for the participants, and the total route of the racing with the lyzzons will be about 1330 km.
