The president of the neighboring country, Alexander Lukashenko, offered assistance to the Moscow plant at a meeting with the mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin – BelTA writes about this. “I am amazed at what you are doing in Moscow. Even something seemingly out of character for you. Especially recently,” Lukashenko said in a conversation with Sobyanin.
He noted that he supports Russia in that it has begun “to produce its own cars, which we once knew well, but at a higher level,” and offered assistance to Belarus.

Lukashenko also recalled the production of cars using Chinese technologies at the Belarusian enterprise BelGee. Since the end of 2017, cars have been produced there using the small-unit method, with a production capacity of up to 60 thousand units per year. “But we will definitely learn from you, because both Moskvich and other cars are what we have in common,” the president concluded.
Moskvich, meanwhile, is preparing to launch its fourth model on the market – a large crossover with index 8. The flagship should go on sale in February of the coming year. It has three rows of seats, a 1.5-liter engine producing 174 horsepower (300 Nm) and front-wheel drive. The Chinese donor JAC X8 Plus is 10 horsepower more powerful.
