In March premium brand [объявила](https://motor.ru/news/genesis-magma-26-03-2024.htm) about the launch of a new brand Magma for the production of high-performance machines. As it became known from an interview with Hyundai chief designer Luc Donckerwolke, Genesis chose a non-standard approach: each of its existing models will receive a Magma version, but the formula will not be the same for all. Some cars with the Magma badge will be oriented toward sport, while others will focus on comfort and luxury.
The balance of luxury and sport in each Magma model will depend on the characteristics of the original Genesis, Donckerwolke said. This likely means that smaller crossovers will focus on performance, while larger crossovers will focus on comfort.
Moreover, all the concepts shown by Genesis are painted bright orange. Whether this will be the only common feature of the production Magmas is still unclear.

The first-born of the new sub-brand will be the GV60 Magma, which will receive a “commodity” version in 2025. It promises improved performance, additional cooling for the brakes, battery and electric motors, as well as 21-inch aerodynamic wheels and bucket seats.

It is expected that this will be an electric car that will borrow technology from the same-platform Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. At the same time, the Magma models will not be exclusively electric cars – at least at first.
And the flagship Magma should be a production version of one of the X-line concepts that Genesis has demonstrated more than once. However, none of them have yet been confirmed for production.
