Volkswagen has updated its most popular product – sausages of Carrivurst. They made a finished dish with a microwave sauce, which can be bought in a regular supermarket. To ship the EDEKA and Netto networks in Germany will begin in June this year.
Volkswagen has been producing cult sausages of Carrivurst since 1973 at a meat processing plant in Wolfsburg. The sauce is also special and is made according to the formula tested by time.
Initially, Carrivurst was available only to Volkswagen employees and sold to the factory canteens, but over time went beyond their borders, becoming the best -selling brand product.

In 2024, Volkswagen sold about 8.6 million sausages. For comparison: the volume of sales of brand cars for the same year is 5.2 million units. The Volkswagen Group Services unit, which produces Carrivurst, brings huge revenue, and with the advent of the new version it will probably grow.
A few years ago, Volkswagen, who picked up an ecological agenda, decided to make sausages vegetarian. However, this idea was adopted in bayonets: the workers, having lost sausages, filed a collective complaint to the trade union, after which the dish was nevertheless returned to the menu.
