The general director of the Automobile Plant Urals Pavel Yakovlev confirmed the Auto Tack: the production of machines stopped in April, and new machine tools are not supplied to the site. The top manager recalled that the NEXT family was collected in Kaluga due to a lack of production capacities. In May, in Miassa, a new assembly complex of the Ural Automobile Plant was launched, which solved the problem.
Pavel Yakovlev admitted that if the market wants more trucks, then the Ural Automobile Plant will return to the Kaluga Volvo plant. The top manager explained that the site is modern, and it has everything to continue work. However, the market does not need so many cars, but it is impractical to assemble on the warehouse. After the construction of a new assembly complex, the production capacities of the Urals increased to 24 thousand units per year.

The Ural Automobile Plant plan in 2024 implied a production of 19.4 thousand cars, and in 2023 14.3 thousand trucks were assembled in Miass. In 2025, in January-April, the sales of heavy trucks collapsed by 51%, and the leading Russian car factories and adjacent people either switch to a four-day working week or are going to do it. In such conditions, the Volvo site is not expected.
In December 2023, the Ural truck was considered the first step by truck loading: it was planned to expand the range of products and attract an Asian partner. This year, investments in the production of trucks do not have to be expected, because carriers are returning to the lessors already contracted vehicles, and dealers’ drains are crowded.
