The American studio Classic Recreations, specializing in radical reworking of classic Ford Mustangs, has overcome bankruptcy proceedings and presented a new project – a completely redesigned 1967 Shelby GT500 with a carbon fiber body. The new product is called the Shelby GT500 CR.
At the end of 2025, the company was brought out of bankruptcy proceedings by investor Velocity Restorations, subject to the preservation of the licensing agreement with Shelby. When building the Shelby GT500 CR restomod, all body panels were replaced with carbon fiber ones with an open texture.
The wheels also feature carbon fiber elements and black and silver spokes, with Wilwood brake calipers visible behind them. The interior features modern sound insulation, Focal acoustics, a multimedia system and black leather seats with red stitching. Under the hood is a modern Ford Coyote V8 5.0 engine.
The motor is available in three boost options. The naturally aspirated version produces 500 hp. and 678 Nm of torque. Supercharged engines – 700 or 900 hp. It is not reported which engine the customer chose for the already built sports car.
Earlier, Audi presented a new supercar Nuvolari.
