A criminal case has been opened following the collapse of the roof of a car assembly shop in the Lipetsk region.

Investigators and criminologists from the regional department of the Investigative Committee are working at the scene.

“The investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Lipetsk region have opened a criminal case into the collapse of the roof of one of the workshops of a car assembly plant in the Krasninsky district on the grounds of a crime under Art. 143 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of labor protection requirements),” reports the press service of the RF Investigative Committee for the Lipetsk region.

Investigators and criminologists from the Investigative Committee for the Lipetsk Region are working at the scene of the collapse. An inspection is currently underway and details of possible victims are being clarified. The investigation establishes the circumstances of the emergency and the circle of officials responsible for labor safety at the enterprise.

At the Motorinvest plant in the Krasninsky district, the roof of the production workshop collapsed. There is a possibility of people being trapped under the rubble.

Rescue units have been deployed to the scene of the emergency to carry out rescue operations. The head of the district, Sergei Polyakov, headed the operational headquarters to eliminate the consequences of the incident.

The plant has been specializing in the production of Evolute electric vehicles since 2022; before that, the Great Wall Hover and Changan CS35 models were produced at the site.

Before this, it became known what would happen to the Tenet brand after the fire at the plant in Kaluga.
