Car sales in Russia continue to fall: according to the results of the 15th week of the year (from April 7 to 13), the Russians bought 19.4 thousand new cars, which is 20 percent less than a week earlier, calculated in Avtostat. Compared to last year, demand fell by 33 percent. Against the background of a reduction in sales, a buyer focus is also shifted: the Chinese model lost the championship in the cheaper Lada market.

Last week, the Russians bought 1178 new Lada Granta sedans – such a result allowed the domestic model to again become the leader of the market, ahead of the Haval Jolion. On the Chinese crossover, 1005 people stopped the choice.

The third position was taken by another “Chinese” – Cher’s Tiggo 7 Pro Max, which failed to overcome the bar in a thousand sold cars. Its result is 725 units. It should be followed by Lada Vesta: the sedan dispersed in the amount of 720 pieces, the station wagon – 667.

Also in the top ten leaders were Lada Niva Legend (664) and Niva Travel (632 pieces), liftbek and Granta station wagon (616 and 547 pieces, respectively) and the Geely Monjaro crossover (519 pieces).

Meanwhile, Russia has ceased to be the main importer of cars from China. In January and February, about 58 thousand cars were delivered from the PRC, which is almost half as much as a year ago. As a result, Mexico and the UAE came forward, who took 86 and 71 thousand “Chinese”, respectively.
