One of the classifieds showed a sedan with the index “2142”, produced in 1999. We are talking about a rare “Moskvich”: the capital’s plant mainly produced extended versions of “Prince Vladimir” and “Ivan Kalita”, and ordinary four-door cars were assembled in small batches. The special feature of this example is the French Renault F3R engine, fully equipped with electrical accessories.

Forgotten “Muscovites”

The owner does not hide the fact that Moskvich-2142 has undergone restoration: the car was completely disassembled, the plumage was replaced with the original one, the seams were cleaned and painted, rotten sills and rear arches were replaced. Now the sedan looks decent and takes part in exhibitions: there are pictures from the Tula Autostrada, as well as car owner gatherings in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

The options list includes air conditioning, power steering and power windows. Under the hood is a French 8-valve 2.0-liter petrol engine with 112 horsepower. Traction is transmitted to the front axle through a 5-speed manual transmission. It is known from open sources that the car has six owners, although one of the owners owned the Moskvich for almost 19 years.

The owner wants to get two million rubles for the sedan. The exact circulation of “Moskvich-2142” is not known, but this example has an identification number ending with the number “0545”. Production of the family ended in 2002, and the range included even rarer two-door “Duet”.
