The Kai Rus company, which sells cars of the Chinese brand Kaiyi in Russia, announced a service campaign affecting 19,752 cars. All of them were sold between 2023 and 2024, according to the Rosstandart website. The reason for the recall was not a manufacturing defect: the cars are going to be retrofitted with units of the ERA-GLONASS emergency response system.
Owners of 1,405 Kaiyi X7 Kunlun crossovers, 4,799 Kaiyi X3 crossovers and 13,548 Kaiyi E5 sedans sold over the past two years are invited to the service.
The vehicles are equipped with control units for the emergency services notification system.

Kaiyi car owners will be notified of the recall campaign by letter or call from the dealership. They can also independently check whether the car is subject to recall by checking the list of VIN numbers on the Rosstandart website.
Kaiyi cars for Russia are produced at the facilities of the Kaliningrad Avtotor plant, which until 2022 produced Hyundai, Kia and BMW. The brand’s line includes four models – E5, X3 and X3 Pro, as well as X7 Kunlun. Next year, the latter will receive an all-wheel drive version, which the crossover already has in China. In Russia, it is currently offered only with front-wheel drive and 1.6 and 2.0 engines.
