The Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rosstandart) agreed on a campaign that affects 79,884 Kia Sportage cars. We are talking about cars produced by the Kia Slovakia plant and sold in Russia from 2010 to 2015. The review is held by KIA Russia and the CIS LLC. It is noted that it is voluntary: that is, it is initiated by the manufacturer itself, and not the regulatory authority, since the risk does not exceed the permissible level.
The reason for the recall is the need to replace the HECU multi -predictor on Sportage cars in order to reduce the face value for better protection of the chain. In addition to the unit, the covers of the fuse block will be replaced in service centers.
Work, as usual, will be carried out free of charge for owners. They will be informed by e-mail or by phone.

This is not the first review of the Russian Kia, announced this summer. In early June, Rosstandart announced a campaign that affected more than 55 thousand old Sorento, Soul and Cerato. The reason was the risk of a short circuit on the printed circuit board of the hydraulic electronic control unit, which is located in the engine compartment.
