In the USA, they also noted an increase in power: although the new Niva Sport engine “will not set the Nürburgring on fire,” compared to the “asthmatic” characteristics of the old naturally aspirated 1.7, this is a significant step forward. American journalists believe that 122 horsepower is not enough for the Sport prefix and are surprised that the special version comes with old-style bumpers, although the Black and Urban versions have plastic parts in body color. Colleagues are also puzzled by the lack of a Bronto body kit.

Foreign reviewers noted the lack of an audio system, but ignored the safety of the SUV. It’s curious that the pre-production Niva Sport Silk Way had a driver’s airbag, and recent official photos show a variant with an old four-spoke steering wheel.
