Pre-production assembly of sport-uprooper with a 122-horsepower engine from Lada Granta Sport [началась](https://motor.ru/news/lada-niva-sport-23-12-2024.htm) at the end of last year. The first copies were sent to test tests, and the novelty will enter the market in the middle of this year. This is written by Izvestia with reference to the leading engineer-designer of the Lada Sport unit Konstantin Gystarov.
However, the engineer was careful with the wording: according to Gystarov, “sales of Lada Niva Sport will begin closer to the middle of this year than to its end.”
He could not name the approximate cost, since AvtoVAZ is still engaged in its formation. It is expected that the price will lie in the range from 2 to 2.5 million rubles. That is, the “starting” sports Niva will be twice as much as usual.

Gystarov promised that Niva Sport will have a small -scale version called Silk Way. This option was shown in the summer of last year: the car dedicated to the Silk Road rally-raid, a bright orange body, a combined decoration of the salon, the “power” trunk on the roof and other original details.
Lada Niva Sport has received a serious update of the technical part: it has a suspension reconfigurated, the rear disc brakes are added, the distribution of the distribution box was changed. The SUV drives a 16-valve “atmospheric” with a capacity of 122 horsepower (151 nm of torque), aggregated with improved “mechanics”.
