The British startup Longbow Motors presented inexpensive electric sports cars, which in the future will be able to compete with the battery Alpine A110, Porsche 718 and Caterham Project V. The company was founded by immigrants from Tesla, Lucid and X Shore and its motto chose the Latin phrase “Celeritas Levitas ” -“ Emergency speed ”. Longbow electric cars are characterized by low mass, classic proportions and “living” running qualities, and they will be assembled manually in England.

For their Longbow cars, a separate class was invented – Featherweight Electric Vehicle, or FEV. Each is based on a specially designed aluminum chassis covered with external composite panels. The first to enter the market should be a speedster, the management of which is compared with a free drop from the board of the C-130 “Hercules”. An open sports car weighing 895 kilograms will be able to accelerate to a hundred in 3.5 seconds and pass without recharging about 440 kilometers.
The circulation of the Longbow Speedster will be 150 copies, the price is from 84,995 pounds, which is equivalent to 9.5 million rubles. There will also be two special versions: Autograph (25 pcs.) And Luminary 1st Edition (10 pcs.). The latter can be reserved on the company’s website for 119,995 pounds (13.4 million rubles). Next, an even cheaper Roadster will appear – from 64,995 pounds Sterligs (7.3 million rubles). He is heavier than a spidster on the centner, gives him 0.1 seconds in acceleration to 100 kilometers per hour and passes 10 kilometers more on one charge.
The Longbow power plant will previously consist of a nickel-cadmium battery and an electric motor with a capacity of 326 horsepower. The modular design will change the nodes without the need to make serious changes, and it will be possible to maintain a low price due to the rejection of carbon fiber monocock and the use of catalog spare parts. From electronics – only the steering wheel and ABS amplifier, no imitations of gear shifts and fake soundtrack. The chassis prototype will appear in Longbow in the summer, product vehicles next year.
