Audi electric sports car with Chaplin’s mustache grille coming in 2028

Audi CEO Gernet Dellner has officially stated that work on the production version of the Audi Concept C continues as planned, despite rumors that the project has been frozen, Autohome reports.

In an interview with specialized publications, the head of Audi emphasized that the Concept C is a “serious product” and everyone in the company is “calm about its future.” In an internal letter to employees, Döllner also dispelled doubts by confirming a fruitful collaboration with Porsche in the development of high-performance electric vehicles.

Although the new model will not be a direct successor to the Audi TT, the company expects that its impact on the brand image will be comparable to its legendary predecessor.

The production sports car will be built on a PPE platform with an original battery layout in the central part of the body. The car will receive a new design in Audi’s corporate style with an emphasis on expensive materials, and physical buttons will return to the interior – without giant screens. A vertical grille should appear in the front of the body. This element has already been dubbed “Chaplin’s mustache” online.

Rear-wheel drive versions and a more powerful all-wheel drive version are expected.

It was previously reported that UAZ would rename the SUV for the first time in the history of the Hunter model.
