Auto expert Kovalev: Jetour Dashing has become the main competitor of the Soueast S06 crossover

If this competition is eliminated at the corporate level, then the S06 will be left with other rivals: Changan UNI-S, Haval Jolion, Tenet T7 and a number of other popular crossovers. Alexander Kovalev, the founder of the external press service for the auto business “Mechanika”, told the analytical agency “Autostat” about this.

“Here, one of the main disadvantages of Soueast S06 will be the strength of the brand. Unfortunately, the company has not yet managed to create a stable brand image and gain a foothold in the minds of customers. And from the point of view of characteristics, the car does not offer anything revolutionary – the standard platform and units of the Chery company. It seems that the main focus here is on design, but that alone may not be enough,” says Alexander Kovalev.

According to the expert, the Soueast S06 is a direct alternative to the Jetour Dashing, well known to Russian drivers. With successful marketing, the new model can gradually displace the single-wheel drive version of Dashing from the Russian market. At the same time, the all-wheel drive version with a classic automatic transmission is likely to retain its presence in the country.

The market outlook for Soueast S06 remains uncertain due to a number of factors that remain to be clarified. Nevertheless, the potential of the new product is already estimated to be higher than that of the larger S07 and S09 models. A similar situation has already been observed with Dashing, which from the very start significantly outsold the X70 Plus and X90 Plus. In this regard, S06 may occupy a significant share in the brand’s sales structure.

The official start of sales of Soueast S06 took place on April 1, 2026. Dimensions of the new item: length – 4,616 mm, width – 1,910 mm. Height varies from 1,685 mm (front-wheel drive) to 1,690 mm (all-wheel drive). The recommended price is from 3.1 million rubles to 3.5 million rubles, depending on the version.
