Auto expert Rogov named 6 elongated cars that are profitable to import from China

As a rule, these are serial models of German brands aged 3-5 years, the engine power of which does not exceed 160 hp. These parameters give the right to use a reduction factor when calculating the recycling fee. There are also completely new cars for which Russians don’t mind paying a fee.

“Of cars with an extended wheelbase, the BMW X1 L (Long) crossovers are most often imported to Russia from China. These are cars with 1.5 (136 hp). Price – from 3 million rubles. The BMW 320Li with a 2.0 engine (156 hp) is also popular; it will cost 3.5 million rubles. Some owners chip the sedan up to 280 horsepower and install a stiffer suspension to get their “dream car,” Dmitry Rogov, founder of the RogovMobil company, told Motor magazine.

The list of cars with an extended wheelbase, which are often ordered from China, also includes the Audi A3L (from 2.5 million rubles), Volkswagen Tiguan L Pro (from 4.5 million rubles), BMW X3L (from 7 million rubles) and Audi Q5 (from 6.2 million rubles). The last three models are usually ordered new. They are subject to increased recycling due to powerful motors.

Despite the fact that the extended body does not excite potential buyers and many would prefer a different configuration, price plays a key role in the choice. Cars with such bodies are noticeably cheaper than their European counterparts with a standard wheelbase. As a result, people buy what is cheaper, ignoring their initial preferences, Rogov said.
