Auto expert Tselikov: car sales in Russia have grown by almost a third

The 12th week of the year was the most successful for sales of new passenger cars since the beginning of 2026. Positive dynamics were also recorded in the LCV, truck and motorcycle segments. The head of the analytical agency Avtostat, Sergei Tselikov, reported this on his Telegram channel.

Last week, almost 24 thousand new passenger cars were registered in Russia. This figure was 17.5% higher than the week before, and became an absolute weekly record for the current year. Compared to the same week in 2025, the increase was 27.2%.

The light commercial vehicle (LCV) market also posted its best year-to-date performance. Sales increased by 14.5% compared to the previous week, exceeding the mark of 1.4 thousand units. Although a symbolic decline is still recorded compared to last year (-3.4%), the gap is rapidly closing.

In the truck segment, sales volume again exceeded 1 thousand units, which is 13.5% more than the previous seven-day period. Negative dynamics compared to the level of 2025 remain (-13.7%).
