Autostat: sales of new passenger cars in Russia will grow by 17% in April

By the end of April 2026, the sales volume of new passenger cars in Russia could reach 115-120 thousand units, the head of the analytical agency Avtostat, Sergei Tselikov, said in his Telegram channel.

“Based on weekly data, in April we can predict the sales volume of new passenger cars at the level of 115-120 thousand units. This is 14-17% more than what was sold in April last year (102.1 thousand units),” Tselikov said.

He noted that in March 2026 the growth compared to the same period in 2025 was 31%. Thus, the spring revival in demand is confirmed by statistics.

In total, in the first four months of 2026 (January-April), the Russian passenger car market, according to preliminary calculations, will grow by approximately 10% compared to the same period last year.

The expert attributes the positive dynamics to the adaptation of automakers to new logistics schemes, the expansion of model ranges of available brands and the gradual reduction of car loan rates in the first quarter.
