Several power units are provided for the Iskra. The base 8-valve 1.6 (90 hp, 143 Nm) is combined with a five-speed manual transmission. The main one is a 16-valve engine (106 hp, 148 Nm), which is powered by WLY transmissions – a 6-speed manual and a V-belt variator.

As experts from Auto Mail calculated, the cost of four service visits for regular maintenance for a 90-horsepower Lada Iskra will range from 55 thousand to 77 thousand rubles.

A similar set of works for a more powerful modification – with an engine output of 106 hp. and a V-belt variator – will cost from 65 thousand to 104 thousand rubles.

Thus, the buyer of the basic version will be able to save on scheduled maintenance. Moreover, if you compare the maximum prices, savings can reach 27 thousand rubles.
