If the taxi driver did not inform the passenger before the trip that a video was being filmed in the cabin, then it will be considered illegal. Automotive lawyer Lev Voropaev spoke about this in an interview with Motor magazine.
“A taxi car is not a public place to be visited by a large number of people, so permission for filming must be taken from a citizen. In another case, the driver must warn in advance that the interior video recorder is working,” the lawyer said.
According to him, the passenger can get the recording deleted. To do this, the citizen needs to contact the taxi company indicating that the video filming was carried out without his consent. If the recording begins to be distributed, the passenger can contact law enforcement agencies. If the citizen was not helped there, then he should go to court: he can demand compensation and compensation for the harm caused, as well as for the illegal use of the image.
