In the May holidays, the autovaz sites will not produce cars: enterprises will go on vacation for 11 days, from May 5 to 7, as well as on weekends and public holidays from 1 to 4 and from May 8 to 11. During this time, it is planned to carry out more than nine thousand different works worth more than 200 million rubles, including those related to the preparation of the production of the crossover on the Vesta platform, the launch of which is scheduled for the next year.
The serial production of the LADA crossover will begin only in 2026, but a prototype with a real body is expected in June at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. According to unofficial data, the novelty will have an original body with branded X-shaped stamping on the sidewalls, but less embossed than the current Vesta. As for the “technology”, Chinese units are considered. In particular, a turbo engine with a capacity of 150 horsepower, working with a variator.

In addition to preparing for the launch of the crossover, other work will be carried out at AvtoVAZ in the May holidays. For example, in the production of auto -components, a car assembly complex and other units, preventive maintenance of equipment is planned. And in the Granta welding production, automation of the loading of sidewalls on welding lines will begin, which will increase the level of robotization of the workshop. It is already automated by 85 percent.
In addition, new enamels will soon appear in the Vesta coloring workshop, and preparations for the development of a new 1.8-liter unit for NIVA begin in the production of engines.
For 11 days in May, not only the main plant in Togliatti, but also the Lada Izhevsk and VIS-Avto enterprise will go on vacation.
