“Behind the wheel”: the prospects for the new Soueast in Russia are still vague

The Soueast S08 hybrid crossover was unveiled at the Auto China 2026 auto show. Externally, the new product is similar to the Kia Sorento. This was reported by auto expert of the magazine “Behind the Wheel” Alexander Vinogradov.

According to the auto expert, the prospects for the Soueast S08 in Russia are still vague, but it is worth considering that two younger models, the “six” and “seven,” are already being assembled at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad. So it’s worth taking a closer look at the S08.

The Soueast S08 is a fairly large seven-seater crossover, almost identical in size to the Kia: length – 4810 mm, width – 1930 mm, height – 1705 mm, wheelbase – 2820 mm. Under the hood is a 1.5-liter turbo engine producing 144 hp, paired with an electric motor. The total output of the hybrid system reaches approximately 350 hp. and 530 Nm, so the dynamics will certainly be impressive. The range is also good: in hybrid mode the range is 800 km, and on pure electricity you can travel up to 100 km.
