BMW has declassified the Vision Alpina concept with a V8 petrol engine

The Bavarians brought the Vision BMW Alpina concept to the Concours d’Elegance in Villa d’Este. This is the first project after BMW completely bought out the brand in 2026. And he’s not talking about electricity.

The main news: under the hood is a petrol V8. Without hybrid “set-top boxes”, traction batteries and hints of a “green” agenda. The exact technical details of the unit have not been disclosed, but it is very likely that the new Alpina will be equipped with a souped-up version of the 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 from the M5. The sound is promised to be “rich and deep at the bottom, sonorous at high revs.”

The length of the coupe is 5200 mm: in fact, this is a Gran Turismo car with a real four-seater interior. The design contains references to the past of the legendary tuning studio – including the iconic Alpina B7 Coupe based on the E24.

Of course, the concept has the 20-spoke wheels that have become Alpina’s hallmark since 1971. There are 22-inch wheels at the front and 23-inch wheels at the rear. The interior is trimmed with leather from suppliers from the Alpine region, stitching in blue and green tones (a reference to Alpina’s signature colors), and metal parts.

Two crystal glasses are hidden in the rear armrest, with a glass water bottle nearby. The media system has a special Alpina interface. In Comfort+ mode, calm tones predominate; when switching to Speed, blues and greens become brighter. The holographic screensaver on the display depicts a view of the Alps from Alpina’s headquarters in Buchloe, Germany. It is known that the first production BMW Alpina will be released in 2027 based on the 7 Series.
