BMW prepares a completely new X7 with four types of engines

The British Autocar got acquainted with the financial report of the concern and discovered information about the research and development of the successor of the all -terrestrial. The document states that BMW spent funds for the development of the NEUE KLASSE family (new IX3), as well as successors X5 and X7. Replacing the flagship crossover is publicly confirmed for the first time, and from the description we can conclude about the technique.

Since the BMW X5 and X7 are listed separately from the NEUE KLASSE family, the architectures of the novelties will be different. Autocar believes that the second generation of the BMW X7 will receive an updated Clar platform, familiar with the 7-Series/i7 family. Thus, the crossover will first receive a “battery” power plant, and four types of units are expected: gasoline, diesel, hybrid and electric!

The head of the BMW research and development department Frank Weber indirectly confirms the theory. The latest BMW X7 expects on sale in 2027. Thus, the current crossover will last on the conveyor of a solid eight years. Now in Europe, the model is offered only in the form of a moderate hybrid, and prices start with 105,600 euros. The main competitor-Mercedes-Benz GLS-is not in a hurry to go to the next generation.
