German automaker BMW has partnered with Mistral AI to improve the quality and accuracy of crash tests using artificial intelligence. Carscoops reports this.
AI will now analyze crash test data and help engineers design bodies and materials more accurately. In addition, neural networks speed up the writing of software: tasks that previously took a whole day are now solved in minutes. BMW said this reduces the need for large staff and allows for faster development of new models.
Artificial intelligence also helps BMW speed up the development of future models, especially in the field of coding and software.
As BMW Development Director Joachim Post noted, AI can significantly reduce the need for labor. “We used to need a lot more staff,” he said. “Now we can achieve much greater efficiency.” AI seriously helps us with this, for example, in writing code. We gain incredible speed of software development, and with it additional speed throughout the development process.”
