Bugatti has made a cup holder for the Chiron hypercar

The owner from Texas complained about its absence because she spilled energy drink in the car and was not very happy about it. Bugatti decided that the missing part would make a great Christmas present, and within a few days they developed a cup holder that could be installed in the driver’s door pocket.

Texas resident Shannon Ralston became a social media star after she complained about the lack of a cup holder in her Bugatti Chiron. For help, she turned to Bugatti chief designer Frank Hale, Mate Rimatsu and even Alexander Selipanov – and the answer was not long in coming. Within a few days, the development team came up with a solution. If Shannon is satisfied with it, the cup holder will be 3D printed so that she can install it in the car in January.

The legendary 1930 Bugatti Type 35B is up for auction for $1.8 million. Two Bugatti Chirons crashed into each other while overtaking a truck. In Russia, a 1,500-horsepower Bugatti Divo is being sold for almost a billion rubles.

The designed cup holder fits into the driver’s door pocket. It has two recesses: one for a bottle, the other for smaller containers, such as soda cans or energy drinks. It was the energy drink (Red Bull, apparently) that was the reason Shannon brought up the topic of cup holders in the Chiron in the first place. By the way, it will have a personalized cup holder – the “Shannon” inscription is made in the color of the body accents.

The latest Chiron was presented in the spring of this year. The hypercar was named L’Ultime and was painted in Atlantic Blue / French Racing Blue shades, like the example that debuted at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Since the Chiron Super Sport was based on it, L’Ultime was powered by a W16 8.0 quad-turbo engine with 1,600 horsepower and 1,600 Nm of torque, combined with a seven-speed “robot.” The Chiron has been replaced by a new model – the hybrid Tourbillon.
