BYD introduced Blade 2.0 battery with charging up to 97% in 9 minutes

The second generation of Blade batteries and Flash Charging technology increase energy density and radically reduce the charging time of electric vehicles, including operation in extreme cold. The key feature is unprecedented charging speed. CarNewsChina reports this.

“The second generation Blade battery charges from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes, and from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes. Remarkably, even at sub-zero temperatures, the system maintains remarkable efficiency: charging from 20% to 97% takes 12 minutes at -20°C and the same 12 minutes at -30°C, just three minutes longer than at room temperature for the 20%-97% range.

At conventional charging stations, the second generation Blade replenishes charge 30-50% faster than standard batteries. In addition to speed, the new product surpasses its predecessor in a number of parameters: energy density is 5% higher, service life is increased and safety is enhanced. An example of the capabilities – the Denza Z9GT with a new battery travels 1036 km on a single charge.

Together with the new battery, BYD is releasing the next generation of charging stations. Their key feature is the T-shaped design, which provides easy access to the pistol. The charging pistol itself has become more compact and has received waterproof protection.

Previously, BYD showed the Song Ultra EV with autopilot.
