In a conversation with CNBC, General Motors President Mark Roiss said that “the new XLR does not correspond to the Cadillac brand strategy,” since he would not be quite unique – he would have repeatedly repeated the Corvette subop -forming, which created unnecessary competition.
At one time, XLR was created as an answer to the models of European premium brands. It was equipped with a 4.6-liter V8 Northstar engine, developing 324 horsepower, and the “charged” XLR-V was relied by a compressor 4.4-liter engine for 449 forces. Rodster had an original exterior and interior design, as well as individual chassis settings.

The new XLR, according to General Motors, would have turned out to be a secondary product without individuality, which does not fit into the product concept of brand development.
