Chery: brands sacrifice safety for refrigerators in car interiors

At the presentation of the new Exeed EX7 car (Chery brand), Chery executive vice president Li Xueyong sharply criticized the practices common in the modern automobile industry.

According to him, many manufacturers are installing brake discs “smaller and thinner” when creating cars. He said that today many companies have lost the right priorities in the development of cars: they care little about safety, handling and driving.

Instead, some rely on comfort and equipment like “refrigerators and TVs” in the cabin, while others simply strive to copy someone else’s design to make the car look “more beautiful and elegant.”

Li Xueyong emphasized that the Exeed brand (Chery’s premium division) builds its philosophy on performance and handling as the basis of true “luxury”.
