Russia will launch production of cars under the Esteo brand

The Russian holding AGR and the Chinese company Defetoo are introducing a new premium brand Esteo to the Russian market – this is the fourth joint project of the partners after Tenet, Tenet Plus and Jeland. Cars of the brand will be produced at AGR factories.

The Esteo range of cars will include traditional fuel models, as well as NEV class vehicles, that is, hybrids and electric cars. The AGR press service promises to reveal the remaining details later.

According to some reports, the original cars will be provided by the Exeed brand belonging to the Chery concern. In any case, the Exeed LX, Exeed RX and Exeed TXL are recorded in the Vehicle Type Approval (VTA) database under the Esteo brand.

Earlier it became known that the AGR holding plans to launch production of Exeed cars in the near future at the former GM plant in St. Petersburg.

Thus, the assembly of cars of the premium Chery brand will be transferred from the assembly line near Moscow, which previously belonged to Mercedes.
