Chinese automakers have reduced the export of passenger cars to the Russian Federation by 42% in 2025.

Data from the General Administration of Customs of China indicate a significant decrease in the supply of passenger cars (including minibuses up to 9 seats) from the PRC to the Russian Federation at the end of 2025, TASS reports.

In quantitative terms, this amounts to 632.3 thousand units. In monetary terms, the decrease was even more significant – 44.3%. The total value of supplies amounted to $8.46 billion.

It is noted that Russia has retained its status as the largest importer of Chinese cars in the world. The UAE is in second place in 2025, followed by the UK, Belgium and Mexico.

Global exports of automotive products from China, on the contrary, showed strong growth. Shipments of all types of vehicles increased by 30% to 8.32 million units.

Earlier it was reported that within a week several brands had rewritten the price tags for new cars.
