Chinese Byd offered Tesla to “unite against a common enemy”

BYD Vice President Stella Lee in an interview with Financial Times said that Tesla needs to work together to change the industry. According to the top manager, by BYD and Tesla “a common enemy-cars with internal combustion engines.” China is ready to share key technologies in the field of electric vehicles and autonomous driving with the West, despite trade tension.

Stella Lee believes that China is more open to foreign business than the West. The BYD top manager added that the Chinese government will support any foreign company, will work with it and assist in the implementation of technology. The comments of the representative of the Chinese auto giant are curious, because Byd and Tesla are competing for the title of the largest manufacturer of electric cars, and recently sales of the American brand are falling.

Italy authorities accused Byd, Tesla and VW in deception with BMW electric cars joined by BYD, Geely and SAIC in a lawsuit against the European Union, Chinese Byd launched the world’s largest ship-car

At the same time, BYD promised that the advanced functions of the autonomous driving of the “Eye of God” will become available even on inexpensive electric vehicles. Analysts predict that competitors will be forced to follow an example. In addition, the Chinese auto giant makes attempts to aggressive expansion to the European market and is ready to build factories in Europe.

In recent months, the trade wars between China and the West has become aggravated, but Stella does not see a problem. In her opinion, the politician “is short -term”, and ultimately consumers will choose the best product. However, in the United States, BYD cars have not yet been offered due to 100 percent import tariffs. The dominance of electric cars in China BYD vice president explained the technological and quality of such machines.
