The car was shown to potential buyers recently in Russia. The purpose of the presentation is to collect opinions and wishes in order to subsequently take them into account when finalizing the production car.
Externally, the V27 stylistically refers to the classic Toyota Land Cruiser 70, especially in the version with a sand body color. However, in terms of dimensions, the new model is larger than the Japanese SUV: its dimensions are 5045x1976x1894 mm with a wheelbase of 2900 mm. The curb weight of the car is about 2.6 tons.
Despite its brutal off-road appearance, the design of the iCaur V27 is far from the “legendary” classic. The car has a monocoque body, and instead of traditional solid axles, an independent McPherson-type front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension are used.
The technical feature of the model is a sequential hybrid power plant. It is based on a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine driven by a generator. That, in turn, powers a traction lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 34 kWh. The drive is full, implemented through separate electric motors on each axis. The peak total output of the system reaches 465 hp. s, and in 30-minute continuous power mode – 152 hp. Claimed performance includes acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds. and a total range of up to 1,100 km, of which the car can travel about 155 km exclusively on electric power.
The interior is designed in a style typical of modern Chinese cars: a compact digital instrument panel and a large central display of the media system. The cabin can be configured with either two or three rows of seats.
It is expected that iCaur V27 will go on sale on the Russian market in six months. According to preliminary data, the starting price of the new crossover will be about 5 million rubles, noted in “Behind the Wheel.”
