Chinese truck manufacturers are preparing to enter the European market

Celestial electric trucks have a chance to rapidly conquer the European market thanks to more advanced technologies and lower prices. Reuters has identified more than half a dozen companies planning to start selling heavy trucks in the European market by the end of 2026.

The passenger car giant BYD, the leading Chinese brand of electric trucks Sany and a division of Geely Holding called Farizon are planning to enter the Old World. Sinotruk, as well as startups Windrose and SuperPanther, are also ready to offer battery technology.

Asian companies, according to information agencies, are ready to set prices for their trucks 30% lower than the European average – it is now 320,000 euros. Their cost advantages are based on their larger production scale.

Traditional truck makers are taking the threat from competitors seriously: “Chinese competitors are fast, innovative, determined and focused, so the race is on,” said Volvo Group CEO Martin Lundstedt.

“UN” all-terrain trucks appeared on sale en masse. Russian car factories had to replace German anticorrosive with domestic ones. To spite the “Chinese”: Honda brought down prices on motorcycles for Russians

Meanwhile, Scania has released an ultra-low-cost truck for the Chinese market: Next Era is a new brand specifically created for carriers from the Middle Kingdom.
