An increase in the recycling fee could lead to a reduction in the supply of powerful cars, while the supply volumes of small cars will remain the same. This opinion was expressed in a conversation with the Avtostat agency by the commercial director of the Pragmatika dealer network, Alexander Shaprinsky.
According to him, brands with weak distribution, insufficient localization of production and ineffective marketing policies, as well as brands whose cars are of low quality and are not supported by warranty obligations, may also leave the Russian market.
“Now it’s difficult to talk about which brands may leave the Russian car market. Everything will depend on the competitiveness of the brand in Russia. If it is economically beneficial for the business, then there is no point in leaving. If the enterprise’s economy does not develop, then leaving is possible,” said Nikolai Ivanov, director of the Rolf sales department.
Experts also do not exclude the emergence of 2-3 new brands and the expansion of model ranges of existing brands.
