Just a few months ago, Dreame was a little-known vacuum cleaner manufacturer from China. Now the company has switched to the automotive industry, founding three automobile brands (Nebula Next, Kosmera, Star Motors) with their own lines of concepts. Carscoops reports this.
The car uses the emblem of Star Motor, one of Dreame’s three newly created automobile sub-brands. The model debuted in February along with two angular SUVs, the T08 and T08L, which turned out to be almost exact copies of the Dongfeng M817 and M917. In addition, the brand presented the luxury SUV D09, whose design largely follows the look of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
This concept was shown at the Beijing Auto Show, and in September at the Chengdu exhibition it will appear in a form close to production. Dreame makes no secret of its habit of copying other people’s ideas, and the new sedan is no exception. The result resembles a hybrid of the Bugatti Chiron and Ferrari Purosangue.
The massive grille at the front is a nod to January’s Kosmera concept, but in a larger, more aggressive design. There are also wide air intakes and sharp LED headlights.
The main feature of the side profile is the rear doors, which open rearward, like a Rolls-Royce. However, Star Motor went further than the British: while the Phantom has a central pillar between the doors, the Dreame concept lacks it completely. When both doors swing open, a single wide opening is created. Judging by recent spy shots, the upcoming Genesis GV90 will feature the same pillarless layout.
